Traineeship/Apprenticeship in Trees and Timber
City & Guilds 0083-71 Level 2 Diploma in Work-based Trees and Timber (Arboriculture) & City & Guilds 0077-02 Level 2 Certficate in Forestry and Arboriculture
The qualification combines knowledge and practical work with employment experience. The course reflects the skills and knowledge needed to pursue a career in Trees and Timber.
What Modules are Covered?
•Control local pollution incidents in environmental and land-based industries
•Identify tree species, their properties and associated plants
•Monitor and maintain health and safety
•Fell and process small trees
•Crosscut and stack small diameter timber using a chainsaw
•Prepare & maintain safe working sites for arboriculture operations from the ground
•Arboriculture ground worker
•Process arising/residues from tree work and timber operations
•Treat & dispose of stumps and roots
•Climbing and aerial rescue
•Safe use of powered pole pruners
•Using a chainsaw from a rope and harness

Groups of 4 maximum - 5 days training and 2 days assessment
