City & Guilds 2399 Photovoltaic Systems
THE CITY & GUILDS 2399-12 PV QUALIFICATION HAS NOW BEEN CLOSED BY CITY & GUILDS. WE ARE CURRENTLY DECIDING ON A REPLACEMENT QUALIFICATION. WE WILL PROVIDE AN UPDATE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
There are two options within the City & Guilds 2399 PV qualification:
OPTION 1: City & Guilds 2399-11 & 12 Level 3 Award in the Installation and Maintenance of Small Scale Solar Photovoltaic Systems - including Unit 201 as an on-line package.
OPTION 2: City & Guilds 2399-11 & 12 Level 3 Award in the Installation and Maintenance of Small Scale Solar Photovoltaic Systems - including Unit 201 as all classroom based training.
Who is this course aimed at?
This is a quality, in-depth course designed to equip installers and designers with the knowledge to be able to design, install, test, commission and maintain small scale solar photovoltaic systems.
Entry Requirements
City & Guilds recommend that attendees possess minimum of NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations, City & Guilds 2382 (17th Edition Wiring Regulations), and City & Guilds 2392-10 (Fundamental Inspection, Testing & Initial Verification). Call us to discuss the eligibility of qualifications from other Awarding Bodies.
Course Content
• Unit 201 - Fundamental knowledge of micro-renewable energy and water conservation technologies (mandatory for both qualifications).
• Unit 311 - Knowledge of installation commissioning and handover of small scale photovoltaic systems (mandatory for both qualifications).
• Unit 312 - Practical installation, commissioning and handover of small scale solar photovoltaic systems (mandatory for both qualifications).
• Unit 313 - Knowledge of inspection, service and maintenance of small scale solar photovoltaic systems (mandatory for 2399-12 qualification).
• Unit 314 - Practical inspection, service and maintenance of small scale solar photovoltaic systems (mandatory for 2399-12 qualification).
Is there an exam?
• 55 minute on-line multiple-choice assessment for Unit 201
• 90 minute on-line multiple-choice assessment for Unit 311
• 40 minute on-line multiple-choice assessment for Unit 313
• Practical assignment (install, test and commission a small scale solar photovoltaic system) for Units 312 & 314.
How long will the course take?
• Option 1 - 5 days (excluding Unit 201 on-line package training)
• Option 2 - 7 days

Course materials will be supplied during the course.
