Prepared jointly with the JIB and the Scottish JIB
DCET Training are a JIB licensed ECS Health & Safety Assessment centre and are therefore able to deliver the JIB ECS Health & Safety Assessment.
Who is this assessment aimed at?
This qualification is for practicing operatives in the electrical industry and enables holders to apply for the CSCS hologram to be put on their Electrotechnical Certification Scheme (ECS) card which is affiliated to the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS).
What books will I need?
An ECS Question and Answer Book is available to help candidates prepare for their ECS Health and Safety Assessment. It is recommended that candidates obtain the question and answer book at least ten working days prior to sitting the assessment to allow adequate time for preparation. You can download an electronic version of the book here free of charge (which includes the new environmental section).
What topics will it cover?
General health & safety at work, manual handling, reporting accidents, personal protective equipment, health & hygiene, fire and emergency, working at height, work equipment, special site hazards, electrotechnical.
Is there an exam?
The assessment takes the form of a thirty minute on-line multiple choice exam conducted at one of our training centres. You will need to get thirty-eight out of the forty-five questions correct to pass.
When will I know if I've passed?
You will be informed of the result immediately and when processed will receive a Results Notification of Success, which has a two year lifespan, to be used to apply for the ECS card.
